Frequently Asked Questions
What documents do I need apostilled for a destination wedding?
Most foreign registrars require apostilled birth certificates and single status affidavits (certificate of no impediment). If either party was previously married, a divorce decree or death certificate of the former spouse must also be apostilled.
What is a single status affidavit and do I need one?
A single status affidavit (also called a certificate of no impediment or certificate of freedom to marry) is a sworn statement that you are legally free to marry. Most countries require this document apostilled before performing a civil ceremony.
How far in advance should I apostille my wedding documents?
We recommend starting at least 6-8 weeks before your wedding date. Florida documents are processed after document review, but federal documents (like naturalization certificates) take 3-a timeline confirmed after document review.
Can you apostille documents for a wedding in Mexico, Italy, or the Dominican Republic?
Yes. We apostille documents for weddings in all 125 Hague Convention member countries. For non-Hague countries, we handle consular legalization instead.
