Lee County Apostille Services
Need a Lee County document for use abroad? Contact Miami Dade Apostille with copies and the recipient's instructions. We review the preparation, coordinate the appropriate authority process and confirm how to send required originals or certified copies to our team.
Begin with your document and destination
A Lee County marriage record, a Florida birth certificate and an FBI report have different issuing authorities. Contact Miami Dade Apostille with copies, the overseas recipient's checklist and your deadline. We review preparation and explain the appropriate certification route. Send required originals or certified copies to our team only after review and confirmed format and delivery instructions.
How our team coordinates the multi-step process
Apostille work may involve obtaining a certified record, preparing a signature or notarization, authority certification, translation and delivery. An apostille verifies the official signature or seal; it does not guarantee that a foreign institution will accept a document for every purpose. Some destinations require additional legalization. Miami Dade Apostille coordinates the appropriate authority submission and agreed services while you confirm the recipient's requirements.
Processing time for eligible Lee County documents
Standard state processing can take months. Miami Dade Apostille offers processing as soon as the same day for eligible documents. Contact us to confirm availability. This is planning guidance, not a guarantee for every record. Obtaining a replacement, correcting a record, notarizing a signature, translation and shipping can change the overall schedule. Federal processing and further legalization have separate timelines. Contact our team before committing to a deadline.
Local birth and death certificates in North Fort Myers
Lee County's Office of Vital Statistics is at 83 Pondella Road, North Fort Myers, FL 33903. Call 239-332-9572. Certificate service is listed Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m., excluding closures. This is a place to obtain the underlying vital record; it is not Miami Dade Apostille's delivery address. Ask the office about eligibility, identification, fees and the exact record before visiting.
Ask about pickup before making the trip
In-person certificate requests are available at Pondella Road. Ask whether your eligible record can be issued during the visit and whether same-day pickup is available that day. Lee's current certificate pages do not provide a blanket same-day pickup promise. Older records, restrictions, corrections or a record that is not yet available can require more time. After pickup, contact Miami Dade Apostille for the separate apostille preparation and coordination stage.
Florida birth certificates and requester eligibility
Lee's certificate overview lists Florida births from 1930 onward. A birth certificate is restricted to an eligible requester with identification and any required supporting documents. An authorized representative may need the original release affidavit and other documentation. Ask about earlier records before traveling. A commemorative keepsake is not a substitute for a certified legal record. Show our team what the recipient requested before ordering a replacement.
Death certificates and cause-of-death information
The local service lists Florida death records from 2009 onward; earlier records require the state vital-record route or an available online ordering option. Cause-of-death information has additional eligibility and authorization requirements. Confirm which version the overseas recipient needs and ask the office what identification and release documents apply. Our team reviews the certified record for the next stage; we do not change the underlying vital record.
Order vital records online through VitalChek
VitalChek is the authorized third-party online ordering service identified by Florida's health department. Its charges and delivery arrangements are separate from local office service and from Miami Dade Apostille. An online certificate order does not include our apostille coordination. Contact our team to review the required format, then allow time for record issuance and delivery before the certification stage.
Order vital records online through VitalChek ↗Fort Myers: certified marriage and recorded documents
The Clerk's Recording Department is on the second floor of the County Administration Building, 2115 Second Street, Fort Myers, FL 33901. Call 239-533-5007 for Official Records. This is the relevant collection for recorded marriage documents, deeds and other recorded instruments. The Clerk states that certified marriage copies with a wet stamp or raised seal can be obtained in person. Confirm that the completed marriage record has been recorded and request the format needed after our review.
Cape Coral branch for record copies
The Cape Coral branch is at 1039 SE 9th Place, second floor, Cape Coral, FL 33990; telephone 239-533-5000. The Clerk lists it as an in-person location for certified Official Records and court-copy requests. Contact the branch with the document or case information to confirm service and pickup arrangements. Service availability can change; confirm the exact request before traveling.
Court judgments and divorce decrees in Fort Myers
The Justice Center is at 2075 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL 33901. The Clerk's directory places Civil services on the second floor; call 239-533-5000, option 3, for direction on a civil case. Certified final judgments and divorce decrees are court records, not the same as a state vital-record summary. Provide the case number and the particular order requested. The Clerk also lists the Cape Coral office for in-person copy requests; confirm the record and service before a visit.
Office hours and service cutoffs
The Clerk's contact page lists its weekday call center from 8:30 a.m.–4:45 p.m. and lobbies open until 5 p.m., excluding observed holidays. A building's closing time does not promise that every copy request can be finished immediately before closing. Call the relevant department for the counter cutoff, record availability and any appointment requirements. A record-office visit obtains the underlying copy; Miami Dade Apostille confirms how to deliver the required documents to our team afterward.
Electronic certification or a traditional certified copy
The Lee Clerk offers electronic certification for Official Records and for court documents through its stated systems. A free search printout is not the same as a certified record. The Clerk warns that some recipients do not accept electronically certified documents. Before purchasing, contact Miami Dade Apostille to review the certification route and confirm the overseas recipient's format. Keep any original digital file; printing it does not automatically create a traditional certified paper copy.
Notarized documents, powers of attorney and affidavits
A privately signed document may require notarization, witnesses or other preparation before authority certification. Contact our team before signing so we can review the record and appropriate notarial preparation. Florida notarized records need a complete English notarial certificate. Remote Online Notarization is available for eligible documents, subject to identity checks and recipient requirements. A notarial copy attestation is not a substitute for a public record custodian's certification.
School records, business records and federal FBI reports
Obtain academic records from the actual school or registrar; ask that issuer about its pickup location and certification rather than assuming a county office holds every diploma. Business registry records differ from privately signed corporate documents. Federal FBI Identity History Summaries use the federal route even when their owner lives in Lee County. Our team reviews each issuing authority, coordinates the appropriate state or federal submission and explains separate timelines.
