Vehicle Export

Apostille Vehicle Title for Export and International Registration

Exporting a vehicle or registering a U.S. vehicle abroad requires an apostilled vehicle title. We process Florida vehicle title apostilles from our Miami office for customs clearance and foreign registration.

Documents We Apostille

Florida Vehicle Title (original or certified copy)
Bill of Sale (notarized)
Odometer Disclosure Statement (notarized)
Export Declaration (if applicable)
Power of Attorney for vehicle export (notarized)
Lien Release (if applicable, notarized)

Important Notes

Florida vehicle titles are issued by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) and apostilled by the Florida Secretary of State.

The apostille authenticates the notary or state official signature on the title — it does not replace customs or export documentation.

Many countries require an apostilled vehicle title for customs clearance and local registration.

For commercial vehicle exports, additional documentation may be required (see our Export & Trade pages).

Prepare your documents with confidence

For a vehicle title, use the version certified by the appropriate issuing authority when required. Confirm the registered owner, asset identifier and any lien or transfer evidence requested by the recipient.

Vehicle, aircraft and vessel records should be matched to the registered asset and the transaction where they will be used. A title, registration, ownership declaration and operating permission serve different purposes. The receiving registry or professional should confirm the record needed and any certification requirements before authentication.

Check that all pages, certification sheets and attachments are present. Keep the recipient’s written instructions and confirm where completed documents should be delivered. Timing is confirmed after document review and depends on preparation, the competent authority, translation and delivery.

Tell us the document, its issuer, destination country and intended use, and your deadline. We will review preparation, translation and delivery options before confirming an estimate and timing. Ask for instructions before mailing originals. Please mail with a tracking number.

  • Compare the asset identifier, registered owner, issuing office and transaction details across the paperwork.
  • Obtain the accepted official record from its custodian; a downloaded printout or ordinary photocopy may not be the required certified version.
  • Confirm whether release, transfer, lien or other supporting documents are requested and who must sign them.
Does an apostille transfer ownership or authorize operation abroad?

No. The receiving registry or authority handles ownership, registration and operating permission. Authentication establishes the origin of the relevant document signature or certification.

What should I confirm before requesting an estimate?

Provide the document, issuer, destination, intended use, number of copies and deadline. Include the recipient’s checklist if available. This allows preparation, certification, translation and delivery to be reviewed before a cost estimate is confirmed.
