Six steps with Miami Dade Apostille

1

Contact us with your Israel document request

Send readable copies, the named recipient's current instructions, the purpose and the complete deadline before sending originals. If mailing, use a trackable shipping method and keep your tracking number.

2

Review the record and issuing jurisdiction

We review the proposed services and certificate format. Confirm unresolved application or legal requirements with the competent Israeli authority or your adviser.

3

Confirm preparation and translation

Agree on any replacement-record, eligible notarization or translation work. Check procedure-specific exceptions and approved signing instructions before paying for unnecessary services.

4

Send the required documents to our team

Send required originals or certified copies to Miami Dade Apostille only after confirmed format and delivery instructions. Keep a copy and provide the return details we request.

5

We coordinate the agreed authentication

Our team coordinates the appropriate state, federal or other competent-authority processing and the approved supporting services. Preparation and authority review can affect timing.

6

Receive the package for the Israeli recipient

We arrange the agreed return or delivery. Review the package against your checklist and follow the recipient's separate registration, appointment or application requirements.

Start with the Israeli recipient and purpose

The right document package depends on its purpose: registering a child, updating a marriage, applying for a visa, presenting academic credentials or signing for a property transaction are different matters. Start with Miami Dade Apostille and the actual recipient's current instructions. Our review helps separate authentication, translation and notarization from the application or legal decision that remains with the Israeli authority.

Israel and the United States under the Apostille Convention

Israel acceded to the Hague Apostille Convention on November 11, 1977, and it entered into force for Israel on August 14, 1978. The United States acceded on December 24, 1980, with entry into force on October 15, 1981. Current HCCH records show an operative relationship between the two countries without a bilateral objection preventing ordinary Convention use. For covered U.S. public documents, an apostille replaces diplomatic or consular legalization when authentication is required.

What an apostille proves—and what the recipient still decides

An apostille certifies the relevant official signature, capacity and seal or stamp. It does not establish the truth of every statement, grant citizenship, approve a visa, recognize a qualification or decide a property right. The Convention also has exclusions, including diplomatic or consular acts and certain administrative commercial or customs documents. Some procedures waive authentication. We review your exact record and request rather than treating every document as identical.

Match each U.S. record to its issuing authority

State and local vital records, state court records and eligible notarized instruments ordinarily follow the designated authority in the relevant U.S. state. Federal agency records, including FBI Identity History Summaries, follow the appropriate federal route. Federal-court documents have their own designated judicial authorities. Living in Florida does not turn an out-of-state record into a Florida record. Our team coordinates the route appropriate to the issuing official and document.

Review your documents before ordering

Send copies and the Israeli recipient's checklist to our team first. We confirm the required format and delivery instructions before you send originals. If mailing, use a trackable shipping method and keep your tracking number.

Birth certificates and registering a child born abroad

For foreign-born child registration, the Israeli mission can ask for an authenticated original birth record and additional evidence. Miami's published instructions distinguish the birth certificate from hospital proof of maternity and, in some cases, evidence concerning the parents' relationship or a court determination. Ask the mission to review your case-specific list. Send us the required certificate format and authentication instructions; an apostille alone does not resolve parentage or citizenship.

Marriage records and previous marital status

An Israeli marital-status update can require a properly authenticated foreign marriage certificate and evidence of the foreign spouse's previous marital status. A marriage license application or a keepsake copy may not serve the same purpose as the recorded marriage certificate. The Miami instructions describe alternatives where a country cannot issue the requested previous-status certificate, but those alternatives have conditions. Confirm the acceptable evidence before commissioning a declaration or replacement record.

Divorce decrees, court records and name changes

Send the complete court or registry request, including any instruction about a final judgment, certification, annotations or linked name-change evidence. A certified U.S. divorce record and a marriage-status update serve specific functions; an apostille does not by itself decide all legal consequences of the divorce in Israel. Ask the competent authority or a qualified adviser whether further recognition, registration or family-law steps apply to your situation.

Death certificates and family document requests

The Israeli death-notification service asks for an appropriately authenticated original death certificate and identifying records. Estate administration, inheritance, pensions and banking can involve different recipients and additional evidence of authority to act. Identify who is requesting the document and why. We can coordinate the agreed authentication and translation services without treating a death notification as a substitute for a probate or inheritance decision.

FBI background checks and other criminal-record requests

Confirm whether the Israeli recipient wants an FBI Identity History Summary, another criminal-record certificate or more than one record. These are not interchangeable. An FBI document follows the federal authentication route; a Florida state apostille cannot replace it. Ask about the accepted issue date and format before ordering. Federal processing, document preparation and delivery have separate schedules and are not covered by an eligible same-day state-service offer.

Confirm the right document version for Israel

Different Israeli procedures require different records and translation standards. Share the recipient's instructions with Miami Dade Apostille before ordering.

Aliyah, citizenship and family-status files

Birth, marriage, divorce, name-change and background records may support an immigration or citizenship file, but the authority determines the applicable evidence and eligibility. An apostille does not establish entitlement under the Law of Return or replace proof requested for a particular family situation. Give us the individualized checklist from the responsible office. We coordinate the agreed document work while you confirm eligibility and application requirements with the authority or your adviser.

Work and student visas have different document lists

Israel's published employment-visa guidance starts with the relevant approval in Israel and can require translated and certified birth and criminal-clearance records. The Miami university or yeshiva student-visa checklist is different: it expressly lists a birth certificate without an apostille or chain of signatures. That is a specific checklist exception, not a waiver for every birth certificate used in Israel. Share your current visa-category instructions before purchasing authentication services.

Diplomas, transcripts and evaluation for public-sector employment

A diploma apostille is not an academic equivalence decision, university admission or professional license. The current Ministry of Aliyah and Integration evaluation service for eligible new immigrants deals with foreign qualifications for public-sector salary ranking and tenders. It lists diplomas, official transcripts and certified-copy requirements, and accepts English documents without translation for that service. An employer, university or licensing authority can have a different checklist. Confirm the purpose before arranging your academic package.

Check the translation rule for the actual procedure

Translation requirements depend on the receiving procedure. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs guidance for marital-status registration at an Israeli mission abroad says certificates outside Hebrew, English or Arabic need notarized translation. The Population and Immigration Authority's separate marital-status guidance calls for notarized Hebrew translation of foreign marriage or divorce certificates, with an Arabic exception. Because these official instructions differ, ask the receiving mission or authority to confirm its rule before commissioning a translation. The specified new-immigrant degree-evaluation service also accepts English, within that service's scope. We offer certified translation services with qualified translators and review the requested format before work begins.

Powers of attorney, affidavits and signature requirements

Obtain the instrument and signing instructions accepted by the Israeli recipient before signing. Israeli consular signature verification requires personal appearance, and its language rules can require a translation with a certified translator's affidavit. Those requirements differ from an eligible U.S. notarization followed by an apostille. Miami Dade Apostille offers remote online notarization for eligible documents; confirm the proposed method, legal form and recipient's acceptance first. An apostille does not repair an unsuitable instrument.

Company records and authority to sign

A company file can involve certified incorporation or registration records, resolutions or evidence that a person is authorized to bind the company. The Israeli mission's corporate signature guidance distinguishes the company's registration evidence from current confirmation of the signatory's authority. Send the recipient's list and the complete documents for review. We coordinate agreed authentication and translation without assuming that one apostille covers every company record or commercial transaction.

Keep U.S. documents separate from records issued in Israel

A U.S. certificate used in Israel needs the route appropriate to its U.S. issuer. An Israeli birth certificate or Population Registry extract is a different request: Israeli missions can help with certain records issued through Israeli authorities. An Israeli consulate does not issue a U.S. apostille. Identify the issuing country for each item in a mixed family file so the correct record and authentication work can be arranged.

Timing, preparation and the complete deadline

Standard state processing can take months. Miami Dade Apostille offers processing as soon as the same day for eligible documents. Contact us to confirm availability. This is our company planning guidance, not a quotation from an official processing queue. Replacement records, notarization, translation, federal processing, additional legalization and shipping can add time. Include the full deadline for the Israeli appointment or recipient; no same-day completion or acceptance is guaranteed for those separate steps.

A coordinated package for the next Israeli step

Our value is organizing the agreed document work around the issuer, certification, recipient instructions and delivery needs. Keep names, dates, attachments and translations consistent, and keep apostilles with their documents. We review copies first and confirm any preparation and return arrangements. Send required originals or certified copies to Miami Dade Apostille only after receiving our confirmed format and delivery instructions. The recipient then handles its separate appointment, registry, visa, recognition or legal decision.

Frequently asked questions

Does every U.S. document used in Israel need an apostille?

No. The two countries have an operative Apostille Convention relationship, so covered public documents can use an apostille when authentication is required. Scope exclusions and procedure-specific exceptions remain. For example, Miami's university or yeshiva student-visa checklist expressly exempts its requested birth certificate. Send the actual checklist before ordering services.

Must every English document be translated into Hebrew?

No single translation rule covers every Israeli procedure. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs guidance for marital-status registration at a mission abroad lists Hebrew, English and Arabic as languages not requiring the notarized translation it requests for other languages. The Population and Immigration Authority's separate marital-status page instead calls for notarized Hebrew translation of foreign marriage or divorce certificates, except Arabic. Confirm the receiving office's current instructions before relying on an English exception. The new-immigrant academic-evaluation service has its own language rules and also accepts English.

Can a Florida apostille authenticate my FBI background check for Israel?

No. An FBI Identity History Summary is a federal agency document and uses the appropriate federal authentication route. A state apostille does not replace that process. Confirm which background certificate the Israeli authority requires and its acceptable age. Federal work is separate from eligible same-day state processing.

Is an apostilled birth certificate enough to register my child in Israel?

Not necessarily. The mission can require additional documents and parentage evidence, including hospital evidence of birth and, depending on the circumstances, further relationship evidence or a court determination. Authentication does not itself establish citizenship or parentage. Ask the mission for the case-specific list and send us the required certificate format.

Does an apostille make my U.S. diploma recognized in Israel?

No. Authentication and educational evaluation are separate. Public-sector salary evaluation, university admission and professional licensing can follow different requirements. Ask the specific institution or authority what it needs, then send the diploma, transcript and checklist for review. We coordinate the agreed document services without promising a recognition decision.

Can I notarize an Israeli power of attorney online?

Remote online notarization may be available for an eligible document, but first confirm the instrument's required form and the Israeli recipient's acceptance. A consular signature procedure requires personal appearance and may have language and identification rules. Obtain approved wording and signing instructions before signing; an apostille does not replace those requirements.

Does the Israeli consulate add an apostille to U.S. records?

U.S. apostilles come from the designated U.S. authorities for the issuing document. Israeli consular services, such as certain record requests or signature certifications, are separate. Our team reviews the issuer and coordinates the agreed authentication route. Do not send a U.S. record to a consulate assuming it will issue the U.S. apostille.

What should I send Miami Dade Apostille first?

Start with readable copies, the Israeli recipient's current instructions and your complete deadline. We review the proposed services and confirm the document format. Send required originals or certified copies to our team only after receiving confirmed delivery instructions. The Israeli authority retains decisions about eligibility, recognition and acceptance.
